This policy defines how social media and photographic/video content are managed at Le Régent International School. It ensures that communication remains respectful, secure, professional, and aligned with:

Applies to all individuals on campus, online, or at school events:

Social media includes any digital platform where people post, share, or interact publicly or privately.
- Must be school-linked.
- Content must be educational, respectful, and well-written.
- Posts must not include:
- Full names of students unless explicitly authorized.
- Any images of students without prior parental consent.
- Personal or confidential information.
- Posts must be reviewed for spelling and tone.
- Privacy settings should restrict content to intended audiences.
Professional accounts may be monitored by SMT or IT. Misuse may lead to account suspension or disciplinary action.
- Must not identify or tag Le Régent or represent the school.
- Staff must never communicate with students via personal social media unless:
- They are family members.
- An emergency occurs, and line managers are informed.
- Never share student information or school content.
- Maintain strong privacy settings.
- Photo/video use for marketing or publication requires parental/legal guardian consent, collected at enrolment.
- Consent is renewed annually.
- The school may use photos without consent for:
- Access cards, certificates, or ID purposes.
- Archival use (after a student leaves).
- Photos/videos may be used in school publications, displays, digital platforms, and during live-streamed educational events.
All content is reviewed to ensure:
- No full names next to images (except Yearbook).
- No publication of personal contact details.
- Students are dressed appropriately.
- Media visitors require prior school approval.
- Names are only disclosed to journalists with explicit consent.
- Parents/guests must avoid sharing images of other students on social platforms.
¶ 🔹 Staff Image Handling
- Staff may take images for school life documentation.
- Images must be deleted after upload to secure systems or official platforms.
- Storage must be on school-managed secure servers.
- Staff and students may not:
- Post inappropriate or misleading content.
- Share images without authorization.
- Save images on personal devices or unsecure cloud services.
- Use school branding on personal pages.
- Staff must not share content that could compromise school reputation.
- Any breach may result in sanctions or reporting to authorities.
As defined under the school’s Data Privacy Policy, parents and eligible students have:
- The right to withdraw consent at any time (via admissions@regentschool.ch).
- The right to request deletion of any photo/video.
- The right to object to publication and to lodge a complaint.
Photos are stored only as long as needed for their intended purpose and may be archived securely.
